It was in grade school that these two love birds met for the first time. It would be years down the road before their friendship turned into something more. Once they graduated from high school they both headed off to college. Michael was on his way to Iowa St while Alyson headed off to the University of Iowa. As faith would have it, they reconnected one weekend when they both ended up coming home at the same time and have been inseparable ever since. Two years later Michael proposed as Alyson describes below:
Michael planned out the perfect proposal outside under the beautiful Christmas lights in downtown Omaha, but the weather would not cooperate. We were blasted with snow and -60 wind-chills! But Michael did not let that mess up is night. He took us to The Christmas Carol play which happened to be our first date, Disney’s version. We then proceeded to get the last reservation where we had spent our first Valentines Day. It was the perfect night, but I had no idea how much better it was going to get. When we got back to the apartment, I wanted to go change into pajamas but Michael remembered that I had always wanted to be proposed to in a beautiful dress so he asked me to open an early Christmas gift first. I had given him shoes as an early gift the day before and when he gave me a similarly shaped box I assumed he was giving me shoes as well. When I opened it I was so surprised to see there was a ring inside. As we all know she said YES!
I had a wonderful time photographing their engagement session this past January on the beach at Coronado Island, and have been looking forward to the wedding since then. You’ve gotta love living in an area where the beach in Jan is enjoyable!
Their wedding was at the new wedding venue recently constructed at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula Ca. This new addition to the venue offers a gorgeous backdrop for a Temecula Winery Wedding, and the staff there was professional and wonderful to work with. A special thanks to Danielle for making the day run smoothly.
