Pete and Mary met through a mutual friend September 28th, 2004 when Mary was 18 and Pete was 23. For both Pete and Mary, it was love at first sight at the most romantic of settings- the gas station! From there, they got to know each other better at a friends birthday party in La Jolla and they had an instant connection. They immediately connected through each other’s goals and dreams, taste in music, hobbies and bizarre sense of humor.
They attribute their successes in college to one another’s support in each step of the way. They both attended Mount San Jacinto Community College for the first couple of years of their relationship. Pete helped Mary through Chemistry and Calculus and Mary encouraged Pete to pursue a higher education. Pete then moved on to UCLA to pursue his bachelors degree, and Mary moved to Colorado to start pharmacy school. They had to spend 1 year apart during this time but they would fly to see each other every chance they got. Once Pete finished at UCLA, he moved to Colorado where he was accepted into his graduate program studying Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics.
Pete and Mary have seen each other evolve into who they are today. Without the love, encouragement and support of one another, they would quite possibly be in completely different places in life. The love, respect and deep understanding of each other have attributed to their successful and special relationship.
Pete decided to propose after Mary’s father (Ron) was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Knowing that the prognosis was not good, Pete did what he could to make sure that he would have Ron’s blessing for Mary’s hand in marriage before he went to heaven. On April 7th 2010, Mary came home after a long evening of studying, to a man on one knee with a beautiful marquis cut diamond ring in hand (like Mary’s Mother’s engagement ring). After Mary said yes, they immediately got on the phone to call Ron who was the first person to know and he was absolutely thrilled at the thought of his baby being in the hands of such a wonderful man. Mary’s father subsequently passed on to the pearly gates of heaven on April 16th, with Pete by his side until the very end. The love, compassion and devotion displayed through Pete’s actions during this time is a pretty good indication of the kind of husband he will be to Mary.
Pete and Mary really are a “match made in heaven.” They married at the beautiful Temecula wedding venue of Lake Oak Meadows. Weddings like this one make me feel proud and fortunate to be a Temecula Wedding Photographer, where everyday is beautiful, every venue gorgeous, and every wedding an absolute joy to photograph.
