“YES!” said Alyson when Michael proposed this past December. A few minutes later “Again” she said “so I can remember everything” So Michael dropped to his knee and ask for her hand in marriage once again, and of course the answer remains a resounding “YES!” The funny thing is, Michael hid the engagement ring inside a shoe box. So when he called Alyson back into the room to get an early Christmas present, she was super excited because she LOVES shoes. I think most of us women can relate to that excitement! But the surprise was better than she could have ever imagined.
These two met in grade school and were friends all the way through high school. After graduation they went their separate ways. Alyson was off to the University of Iowa while Michael headed to Iowa State. It is always good to have little competition in the family, don’t you think? The holidays brought them both back to their hometown of Ceder Falls where they reunited once again. This time the friendship turned into something a little more, and since then they’ve been inseparable.
Amidst all the wedding planning, these two love birds are both finishing up their terminal degrees. Alyson is getting her Doctorate as a PhD in Child Development and Michael is working toward his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT).
Alyson: ”He is an amazing person, my best friend, and I am so excited for him to be my husband in the months to come.”
They are having a destination wedding in Temecula in June 2011. I can’t wait!
